Parent Involvement!
Classroom Holiday Parties:
Throughout the year we will be having classroom parties. We like to ask parents or guardians of our students to come in our classroom and celebrate holidays with us! At our Open House at the beginning of the school year, we will have sign up forms for parties that you can help with. Collaborating and communicating with other parents/guardians on what games and food to bring will happen when times gets closer to the parties. We will keep in touch and have a very fun time with our students!
Research Projects:
During the spring of first grade, students will have opportunities to participate in multiple projects. Besides classroom instruction and guidance, these are mainly to be done with parent involvement at home. Some topics previously done have been:
1. An animal research project
2. Penguin Facts
3.Family Heritage research project
Practice, Practice, Practice...
Throughout the year, parents and students are encouraged to work together on practicing things at home, such as:
1. Math Facts/Homework
2. Spelling Words
3. AR (Accelerated Reading)
4. Sight Word Flash Cards
